WIENERSCHNITZEL TAKES ON THE DIRTY DOG

LA is known for their "dirty dog" or other may call it an "alley dog", whatever you call it, it's the bacon wrapped hot dogs, sold on food carts on the streets of LA. You can find them in the day but more likely to find them in the evening, for us this was drunk food, after concert food, etc.

The food chain Wienerschnitzel will have one coming out soon. Seen this add hmm... would this be worthy to take on the legendary dirty dog? To most that have had the real thing, probably not.

WHO WOULD'VE EVER THOUGHT...

We find a place like this... Filipino food with an amiercan twist. The place Papa Urb's Grill.

I've heard of this place from a number of people and finally had the time to go out there. Spot isn't big what so ever probably seats 25 or so. The menu consists of filipino americanized dishes, traditional filipino dishes and deserts. The prices aren't bad what so ever.

We ordered tocino sliders (tocino cured pork usually eated for breakfast), longanisa sliders (Longanisa is a sweet breakfast sausage that can be compared to Portuguese linguiça but fairly more sweet).

Sisig fries & sisig tacos (sisig is pork marinated in a sour liquid such as lemon juice or vinegar, then seasoned with salt, pepper and other spices).

Topped off with a F.O.B (coconut bread, mango & ube ice cream with fresh cut strawberries) & fresh cooked turon.

This place is quite bomb and I'll be back for more. WHO'S COMING WITH ME?!

THIS WEEK IN PHOTOS

Kicking the week off with Valentines day wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be; a day full of work. Basically an entire work week to have it at that. Another weekday at Buffalo Wild Wings for a birthday and of you course you know we rolled deep 25+ with another long wait for a table. It all means one thing, we wait at the bar, get buzzed till we can eat.

Another thing that stayed constant with work this week was the rain.

In other news, word has been circulating that Borders has gone belly up. Actually since an article on this once the year started about companies that will be lost in 2011. Sooner than expected Borders announced that they're closing their doors in this town which means... you guessed it, closing out sales.

Decent deals while there's still a good selection available, I had to wait in a line for 45 minutes just to purchase my goods. Starving from work and the madness at Borders, the hommies and myself headed to Flip's for some burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes.

Along with Allstar weekend going on we all awaited the slam dunk contest. Filled with hilarious scenarios and predictions. Then ending the week with some Papa Urb's to be continued...

A DAY IN THE CITY

Off tot he City and I got there faster than expected, a day with the boo. Out in DC then headed for some Lunch at Ike's at Lime, the line was pretty crazy.. waiting for hours to wait in another line.

Lime is a lounge I guess? It was saturday and only 1pm and people were getting smaaashed, the place was so packed that all people ordering Ike's didn't get anywhere to sit. Like I said we waited in a line to order to wait in another line to get our food. I would say the food was great but I'm not sure if that wait was fully worth it because of the fact that we didn't have anywhere to sit. Luckily a near by Pete's coffee bench was free for us to enjoy our sandwiches as well as watch the people who were drunk from Lime & Barracuda sushi yack on the streets before it was even 3pm.

Just a few minutes away was Upper Playground. Parking always sucks on the streets but at least we made it there and I got to see my cousin as well as cop these shirts.

Downtown the usual, busy, busy. Hit up Niketown and a bunch of other shops around union square. But this was just too good to not take a picture with!

During dinner it rained red envelopes.

Great day in the city with my boo, see you again soon.

AMERICA'S MOST MISERABLE CITY ONCE AGAIN ...

YUP, once again STOCKTON! Here's an exert from the latest article via Yahoo! & Forbes.

[Located in the state's Central Valley, Stockton has been ravaged by the housing bust. Median home prices in the city tripled between 1998 and 2005, when they peaked at $431,000. Now they are back to where they started, as the median price is forecast to be $142,000 this year, according to research firm Economy.com, a decline of 67% from 2005. Foreclosure filings affected 6.9% of homes last year in the Stockton area, the seventh-highest rate in the nation, according to online foreclosure marketplace RealtyTrac.

Stockton's violent crime and unemployment rates also rank among the 10 worst in the country, although violent crime was down 10% in the latest figures from the FBI. Jobless rates are expected to decline or stay flat in most U.S. metro areas in 2011, but in Stockton, unemployment is projected to rise to 18.1% in 2011 after averaging 17.2% in 2010, according to Economy.com.

"Stockton has issues that it needs to address, but an article like this is the equivalent of bayoneting the wounded," says Bob Deis, Stockton city manager. "I find it unfair, and it does everybody a disservice. The people of Stockton are warm. The sense of community is fantastic. You have to come here and talk to leaders. The data is the data, but there is a richer story here."]

CC REGISTRATION PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE TO SUCK FROM NOW ON

O hey awesome for the 3rd time they're trying to sell tickets, we can actually click on it, oh wait... look what happens

A half hour into it we would reach the purchase page but what tickets were already selling out? Also once we'd try to hit check out it would send us once again to reached capacity..

With constant non-stop clicking of the refresh button, it was the same thing, would get to their page, but this time, different day tickets were sold out? hmmm glich, again!? And with a different site? Because we sure see how it went with EPIC & their Epic Fail. Same thing, reach the page, try to check out and be sent to capacity reached..

Each time I would get through, a different day would be supposedly sold out but I kept trying..

Two hours in and this... what happen with all those tickets where there weren't enough?

None of this made sense to me, I never even got through but what great friends do I have, they got through and swooped on a ticket for me, thanks guys!
In the end I'm not sure how fast tickets sold, but it's pretty much sold out unless your a kid that wants to go on Thursday or Sunday, ohhh just kidding, it's official, Comic Con 2011, is SOLD OUT!
